Hello!

I believe that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgment. I believe all healing begins with transparency, open communication, and ownership. Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and issues, I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation. Some of the methods I use are DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems Model.

As a therapist, I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist, combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling. I prefer a more conversational style to my practice.

I have over 25 years of experience as a social worker. I have many years of experience working with children, teens, adults and families in varying situations. I have an extensive background in working with children, teens, families, LGBTQIA+ folks, adults, and those who are retired. I have done work around complex trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, transitions, self-esteem, parenting issues, as well as a specialty in grief/loss, anticipatory grief, end of life, hospice and chronic medical issues.

I have a Master’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences at Portland State University as a Summa Cum Laude recipient. I have also been certified in DBT as well as ongoing training for Grief and Loss Counseling.
