My approach to therapy is person-centered, holistic, and strengths-based. I believe clients are the experts of their own stories, and my role as a therapist is to create a safe space for individuals to explore intersecting aspects of their identities. Therapy is not about asking “what’s wrong” and instead about building upon existing client strengths in order to create a meaningful and rich life. My toolbox consists of a variety of counseling modalities such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and exposure therapy as I believe counseling should be tailored to fit the specific needs and goals of the client.

Foundationally, I practice from a person-centered, relational-cultural, and narrative framework. I believe the therapeutic alliance aids in creating change by allowing clients to be witnessed holistically and without judgement while rewriting their stories. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in English from Truman State University and received my Master of Arts in Counseling degree from City University of Seattle. Currently, I am in an expressive arts therapy training program at Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute and will complete this certification in June 2020. I enjoy incorporating the expressive arts into treatment through visual art, movement/dance, writing, drama, and music. I have experience working with adolescents and young adults with mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders as well as those struggling with body-image, self-esteem and self-image. I am passionate about providing services to those within the queer community and people dealing with codependency.
