🔴 Sarah Engelskirchen-Bugler
Clinical Supervisor, Counselor, MA, LMHC
She/Her
Telehealth only
I specialize in Anxiety, Trauma and PTSD, Eating Disorders, Queer Issues, and Expressive Arts Therapy
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Degree from City University of Seattle in 2019. In addition, I graduated from the Expressive Arts Therapy training program at Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Therapy in 2020. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in English from Truman State University.

My approach to therapy is person-centered, holistic, and strengths-based. I believe clients are the experts of their own stories, and my role as a therapist is to create a safe space for individuals to explore intersecting aspects of their identities. Therapy is not about asking “what’s wrong” and instead about building upon existing client strengths in order to create a meaningful and rich life.

My toolbox consists of a variety of counseling modalities. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dreamwork and Dream Arts Therapy. I also have training in and utilize components of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure Therapy as I believe counseling should be tailored to fit the specific needs and goals of the client. My specialized training is focused on Expressive Arts Therapy, and I enjoy incorporating these modalities into treatment through visual art, writing, drama, music, movement, dance, and other somatic practices depending on client interest and needs. Foundationally, I practice from a person-centered, relational-cultural, and narrative framework. I believe the therapeutic alliance aids in creating change by allowing clients to be witnessed holistically and without judgment while rewriting their stories.
