Chance Boley, MA, Ed
Hello, my name is Chance.
The most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. The relationship is where the deepest connection on a psychological level between the client and therapist occurs. The unconditionally positive perspective the therapist holds towards the client forges a bond over time between client and therapist that opens up the possibility for trust, openness, and healthy growth to occur. As a therapist, my job is to help you notice unhealthy cycles that contribute to your difficulties, while providing encouragement and additional insight as needed.
My theoretical orientation is based in Depth Psychology and the Phenomenology of the client. In Depth Psychology, the meaning and roots of behavior, worldview, personality, etc. are explored to facilitate a deeper understanding of the client. I take a phenomenological perspective, which is essentially exploring experiences from the client’s perspective. Change can occur by working through the emotions, trauma, or experience by using newly found understanding to shift perspective and integrate aspects of self.
I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling in relationships, experiencing anxiety or depression from work/life stressors, difficulty understanding emotions, and narcissistic/borderline tendencies. I look forward to working with you.
